How to perform a hard reset on the CLIÉ® handheld

ya se imaginarán ustedes la leche que gasto hoy con esta gracia…. y todo porque If the handheld is inoperable and will not reset, recharge or replace the handheld battery and try again. ala!! y así!! por que si!! venga ya!! si ayer mismo estaba haciendo fotos con ella, esta mañana me ha despertado con sus pitiditos, hasta le he enseñado a un cliente los mapas del GPS por la tarde…. pero mira tu, que le ha dado por ahí y me he tenido que ir a buscar la vida a la Sony eSupport Knowledge Base.

y en esas estoy…. esperando primero a que se gastase la batería del todo (menos mal que el dienteazul se activa solo y ayuda, porque si no se enciende ya me dirás como) y esperando ahora a que se cargue un poco a ver si le restauro los datos….

en fin, que me blockquoteo el «procedimiento» por si me toca repetirlo, algo sale mal o le da por «desaparecer» a ese servidor de SONY tan majo (129.33.22.8), vaya usted a saber….

Follow this procedure to perform a hard reset on the handheld.

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Performing a hard reset will remove all added programs, updates and records stored on the handheld. It is strongly recommended to backup data and information on the handheld , if possible, before performing a hard reset.

– Remove the stylus from the handheld.
– Press and hold down the POWER button.
– While holding the POWER button, on the bottom of the handheld, use the stylus to press and release the Reset button.
– Continue to hold down the POWER button until the Palm OS® logo screen appears.
– Release the POWER button.
– At the Erase all data? screen, press the Left Arrow [FIG.&nbsp1] button.

WARNING: There is a risk of software corruption. Do not attempt to use any handheld functions until after the Setup screens have been completed.

NOTE: As viewed from the back, the Left Arrow button is actually on the right.Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the Setup screens.

NOTES:

* If the Erase all data? screen does not appear, the hard reset has not been successful and must be performed again.
* If the scroll button was used prior to the hard reset, the reset may not be performed.
* If the handheld is inoperable and will not reset, recharge or replace the handheld battery and try again.
